The Four-Fold Path

Buddhists have an Eight-Fold Path to Salvation. Similarly, here is my Four-Fold Path to a Stoic life.

  1. Live Frugally.
  2. Practise Self-Sufficiency.
  3. Exercise Restraint.
  4. Cultivate Virtue.

Each of these four principles has been derived from the writings of the great Roman Stoics. While it may be obvious how the first three may contribute to the environment, by reducing consumption and avoiding waste, it is in fact the last principle, Virtue, which is the most important aspect of the Stoic way of life.
